Republican nominee Donald Trump on Wednesday impersonated “Saturday Night Live” actor Jon Lovitz’s famous character “Tommy Flanagan, the Pathological Liar” to take a jab at the Hillary Clinton campaign.
Speaking at a press conference in Doral, Fla., Trump criticized a top staffer of Clinton’s for blaming the Russian government for last weekend’s leak of Democratic National Committee emails.
“I watched this guy Mook,” the real estate mogul recalled, referring to Robby Mook, who manages Clinton’s campaign and discussed the DNC email leak last Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
“And then he said, ‘Uh, could be Trump. Yeah. Yeah. Trump. Trump. Oh yeah. Trump. He reminded me of Jon Lovitz for ‘Saturday Night Light,’” Trump continued.
He then did his impersonation of Lovitz.
“Yeah. Yeah. I went to Harvard. Harvard. Yeah. Yeah,” Trump said. “This is the guy, you have to see it: ‘Yeah, could be Trump. Yeah. Yeah.”
The catchphrase of the signature Lovitz character was to follow his lies with “Yeah, yeah” and “That’s the ticket.”

Last weekend, WikiLeaks published thousands of DNC emails, including embarrassing ones in which party officials discussed undermining Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign in the primary, despite the DNC’s public claims of impartiality. A number of experts and reports have linked the leak to Russia, as Mook had noted.
“I think when you put all this together, it’s a disturbing picture, and voters need to reflect on that,” Mook said on CNN, noting that the Trump campaign has staked out a relatively dovish position when it comes to potential Russian aggression.
